(jd) A resident of Zillestrasse noticed a demolished Opel in his driveway on Saturday morning (February 1) and called the police. At around the same time, a resident of Bünder Straße found a field of debris in his front garden: Various vehicle parts were lying here, and a wall and a tree showed clear signs of damage. This resident also called the police. The police officers who arrived determined that the vehicle parts in the garden on Bünder Straße could be attributed to the Opel on Zillestraße. At the owner's address of the vehicle, the officers met an 18-year-old man from Bünder who admitted that he had been driving the car involved in the accident: According to initial investigations, he was driving his Opel in the direction of Bünde at 5:00 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, the Opel ended up in the front garden and crashed into a wall and a tree. He later parked his vehicle in Zillestraße. The material damage is in the four-digit range. The Herford police traffic commissioner's office has taken over the investigation.
