(jd) A 25-year-old man from Spenger was driving his Ford on Wallenbrücker Straße in the direction of Neuenkirchener Straße yesterday (April 1) at 11.55 pm. He left the road shortly after the junction with Niedermühlenweg, drove into a ditch and hit a tree. Due to the force with which the Ford hit the tree, the car was thrown back onto the road and came to a standstill on its roof. The 25-year-old was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The police officers called to the scene detected signs of alcohol consumption in the 25-year-old, so a blood sample was taken at the hospital. The man's driving license was confiscated and he was banned from driving vehicles requiring a driving license. Property damage in the four-digit range was caused.
