(jd) During a patrol last night (February 6), officers from the Herford district police department noticed a small white car: the previously unknown driver was driving his Ford on Königstraße in the direction of Bünder Straße at 2.10 a.m. and crossed into the oncoming lane several times and obviously had difficulty keeping in lane. The driver initially did not react to the patrol car's signals to stop. The vehicle only stopped at the junction of Oeynhauser Straße and Albert-Schweitzer-Straße. The officers immediately noticed a distinct smell of alcohol coming from the driver, a 61-year-old from Löhn. A breath alcohol test carried out accordingly was clearly positive, so the man was taken to the Löhn police station. Here, he was initially verbally aggressive towards the officers. In the further course of the police measures, he also resisted physically. After a blood sample was taken and his driving license confiscated, the 61-year-old was released on the spot. The officers prohibited him from driving vehicles requiring a driving license.
