(jd) A 25-year-old woman from Enger reported a theft to the police on Friday (24.1.): At around 6.30 p.m., the woman noticed that a pedelec she had previously parked at a cellar door in Liedweg was no longer there. She had secured the bike with a combination lock - which the previously unknown perpetrator or perpetrators had forced open. The owner of the pedelec, a 26-year-old from Herford, found the pedelec just a few days later on an online platform where it was advertised for sale. He met the "sellers" on Hermannstraße in Enger and discovered that it was actually his Hilti pedelec. He handed over proof of ownership to the police officers who had been called. The two suspects, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old from Enger, now face charges of theft and fraud. Their legal guardians have been informed.
